Best Wishes

Dear IAPG colleagues and friends,

in these days before Christmas holidays, I have taken stock of the IAPG life during  the year that is about to end.
While examining the 2015 IAPG activities, I saw the efforts of many of you, your enthusiasm and your responsibility in promoting geoethics and the Association.

The IAPG is growing fast: nowadays IAPG can count on more than 900 members in 103 countries and new national sections are going to be established. But it's not just a matter of numbers: the numbers are the most obvious thing. Behind those numbers there is the increasing quality of our ethical reflections and scientific contents. And in each of us an increasing clearness of our objectives.

The spirit of cooperation, honesty and respect for others, the ability to act with a perspective for the future, the policy of inclusiveness that reign within our association are the secret of our success. A success that during this year allowed us to win the confidence of prominent organizations, that have recognized in the IAPG a trustworthy subject with which to cooperate. The IAPG is honored to have received recognitions by GSL, GSA, EuroGeoSurvey, EFG, AGI, IUGS, AGU, AAWG, AEG, IGEO and others bodies, which highlight the excellent work done.

These results would not have been possible without your support. I thank all of you.

For the new year I wish you to keep alive the fire that every day calls us to be faithful to the ethical commitment in our scientific activity, in order to give more and more importance to ethical and social aspects in our beloved Geosciences.

A big wish for a great 2016.

Silvia Peppoloni

(IAPG Secretary General)
